Re: A Theory

Yes Mike - I had considered that the StarCiv might have had the means of somehow making water 'still'. By that, I mean they had some way of making water stay in place i.e. not flow like water normally does. As bizarre as it sounds, this would have allowed a canal system to be on hills, mountains etc...

Re: Downloading Colm's KMZ file

when you click the download icon, choose 'save file...', and download. Then go to wherever your downloaded files are stored, double click the The_Catalogue.KMZ file and it will launch GE and ask you at the end of your session whether to save it into GE or discard it. Hope that helps.

Re: Limerick, Ireland

Thanks for that, Mike. Just worked out how link KMZ pins to images on the web - I dropped this image into a folder on the starforts.org web site (web space) and then there's an option, (when creating a KMZ pin) to link to an image on the web. Hey presto, when you click on the pin in GE, it displays ...

Re: A Theory

Starman - agreed, it's quite possible that there were a lot of people around. Those fields in the mountain are odd - no doubt about it - but they don't look 'neat' enough to be StarCiv. Hey look, I'm open to any possibility, especially after finding out that any history beyond a few hundred years ag...

Re: Budapest

Just been looking at Budapest in the 1940's - and for the first time, many of the pics are not available as enlarged images. Hmmm. Might be a glitch with the NCAP site. However, I would now call Budapest ' The City of Colosseums ' - there are a huuuge number of them. Including a giant one. And I mea...

P.S. Please someone teach me hot to properly share the points and lines. When using GoogleEarth, wherever your 'hand' pointer is on the map, press CTRL+SHIFT+C and the coordinates are copied. Then right click mouse and paste into whichever application you want. I'll check out your areas of interest...

Re: A Theory

It's becoming more apparant, daily, that the Field System was not for growing crops per se . There would have been a lot less people back then, so the super-abundance of fields worldwide would have been massive overkill if they were for producing food. I have recently found many instances of 'mini-f...
